A significant advantage of Dynamics 365 Business Central over competitive solutions is smooth and convenient integration with the Microsoft Office. Most of us use Outlook, Word or Excel every day and want to be able to work freely with these applications also after implementing a new ERP system. How does Business Central respond to this need?
Excel
Excel is an absolutely basic tool for all types of business calculations. Thanks to the integration of Dynamics 365 with Excel, you can view, update and analyze the data previously saved in this most popular spreadsheet. Moreover, you can conveniently export data from Business Central to a spreadsheet. As a result, we can display in Excel a list of records from Business Central, e.g. a list of customers, sales orders or a list of invoices.
Below is a video presenting the possibilities offered by the integration of Dynamics 365 Business Central with Microsoft Excel.
Outlook
Business Central offers the ability to manage business interactions (including contacts with customers and contacts with suppliers) directly in Outlook, thanks to the “Business Central Outlook” add-on.
Integration Outlook with Business Central allow:
- Displaying data on individual contractors and quickly creating and sending financial documents (e.g. invoices) directly from Outlook.
- Create new Dynamics 365 records from Outlook.
- Quickly add new customers to Dynamics 365 Business Central and add tasks assigned to individual contacts.

Word
By integrating with Microsoft Word, you can access some Microsoft Word features directly from Business Central. Examples of documents supported by Word is quotation templates or sales documents.
Teams
integration with the popular Microsoft Teams application and Dynamics 365 Business Central is constantly being intensively developed. The integration is currently available for the Business Central Online release Wave 2 and later.
In Teams, we can install an application “Business Central”, which allows you to copy a link to any card / page from Business Central and send it as a link to colleagues. Then, inside the conversation in Microsoft Teams, an interactive tab is automatically created with information about the copied page from Business Central. The best part is that you can take some actions (such as edit data in Business Central) without leaving Teams. SharePoint
The integration between Dynamics 365 Business Central and Sharepoint allows you to access documents in Sharepoint from the Dynamics system and vice versa. You can also share documents with other users and assign specific documents from Sharepoint to clients stored in Business Central.
