Microsoft Ignite is an annual conference for IT professionals organized by Microsoft. This year’s edition took place in Orlando from November 4-8. The highlight of the program was the opening speech of Vision Keynote, which was led by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
Satya Nadaella presented a comprehensive view on the future of technologies dedicated to enterprises. Azure cloud technologies were a key issue. Power Automate – is the new brand to replace Microsoft Flow. It will be a comprehensive automation solution including AI, APIs and Microsoft Power Platform. The main assumption is to allow manual tasks to be transformed into automated workflows, both on platforms that support the API and those that do not have such a connector.
Project Cortex – allows you to increase efficiency during everyday business processes by transforming content into an interactive knowledge repository equipped with analysis and innovative data mining methods to create sophisticated content models. Sample data can be grouped in the form of topics corresponding to projects, clients or specific issues. Project Cortex is more than SharePoint because it combines content from Microsoft 365 with external systems and enables intelligent information management and organization of workflows.
In addition, several new functionalities were announced within Microsoft 365 to improve daily work. Among them:
Plan my emails – using Cortana to read e-mails and share changes in the schedule, which allows you to work with e-mail even when we do other activities.
Better sound in Stream – using machine learning algorithms to eliminate unwanted noise in a movie with just one click.
New button “Teams Chat” in Outlook – faster transition to the conversation, thanks to the button placed in Outlook that redirects to the Teams application.
New version of Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Bing – security improvements and an intranet connection via Microsoft Search in Bing.
