ERP and CRM software from Microsoft

In this article, we list popular solutions ERP or CRM solutions from Microsoft. Below is a short description of Dynamics NAV, Dynamics AX (currently Finance and Operations), Business Central, Dynamics 365 and Office 365.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 

Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a global ERP solution. It is a very popular solution used by over 120,000 companies around the world. It is an ERP class solution that improves business management. Dynamics NAV, among other things, improves financial, production, warehouse and sales processes. Many companies still use the Dynamics NAV system, while the latest version of this solution is Dynamics 365 Business Central. Support for Dynamics NAV is not continued and, according to Microsoft’s policy, only Dynamics 365 Business Central can be currently deployed.

Microsoft Dynamics AX (currently Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations and Dynamics 365 for Retail).

It is an ERP class solution that was recommended for larger organizations than those that used Dynamics NAV. The modules included in this software are, among others, Finance, Fixed Assets, HR, Payroll, CRM, Purchasing, Sales and Warehouse Management.

From July 2017, Dynamics AX operates under the name Finance and Operations. There is also a retail-focused version known as Dynamics 365 for Retail

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Dynamics 365 Business Central is an ERP class system that was introduced to the market by Microsoft in 2018. It is a continuation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and AX. The functionalities have been divided into several modules with the following names: Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, CRM, Human Resources, Projects, Service, Production.

Business Central is an example of what a modern ERP system can look like. It is a software that is distinguished by a modern and intuitive interface. Moreover, the breakthrough is the fact that, depending on the preferences, the software can be used in the SaaS (cloud) model or on own server resources (on-premises).

When choosing the SaaS model, an organization investing in Business Central does not have to deal with issues related to infrastructure maintenance. The software and application data are hosted in the Microsoft Azure data center.

Microsoft Dynamics 365

Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a CRM system that improves customer relationship management. The CRM system helps in managing and maintaining relationships with customers and in managing the sales funnel. It is a software that offers, among other things, the possibility of data segmentation, real-time data analysis and many different types of functionalities that improve marketing and sales work.

Office 365 / Microsoft 365

Office 365 is a widely recognizable suite of office applications enriched with solutions using the Microsoft cloud. As part of Office 365, apart from the well-known office suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote and Teams), we can find solutions such as Exchange Server and SharePoint Server. With these solutions, Office products are delivered online and are automatically updated. Additionally, the user can use solutions such as OneDrive (virtual disk in the cloud) or Power BI (Business Intelligence solution).
