One of the most important events in the Microsoft ERP solutions industry – Directions EMEA 2023 took place on October 30 – November 3, 2023. As usual, the conference gathered leading companies, Dynamics 365 Business Central solution partners and experts. One of the most important topics discussed during this event was relocation. Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions. What is it really about? What does it mean? What is relocation? More on this later in the article.
During the main presentation, Microsoft shared news and plans for the future with the participants. One of the key aspects that attracted particular interest was the pursuit of global availability and applications of Dynamics 365 Business Central. From now on, delocalization does not only mean adapting the solution to a specific market, but transferring key functionalities from local versions to a global, uniform W1 version available to everyone.
One of the main points of the presentation was to show how repetitive local functionalities will be removed and integrated into the W1 version, which means that users around the world will use the same advanced tools, regardless of local specifications or regulations.

Czym zatem jest delokalizacja rozwiązania? Jest wyłączeniem etapowym pakietów lokalizacyjnych na danych rynkach lokalnych (krajowych) i włączaniem sukcesywnym tych kluczowych funkcjonalności do wersji głównej globalnej W1, którą przygotowuje Microsoft. Założeniem jest, aby mniejsze funkcjonalności lokalne przygotowywane były przez partnerów i dostarczane w postaci małych rozwiązań, które można kupić w sklepie. Warto podkreślić, że delokalizacja Dynamics 365 Business Central to nie tylko dostosowanie do różnych standardów rynkowych, ale również uwzględnienie lokalnych regulacji, przepisów podatkowych i innych aspektów specyficznych dla danego regionu właśnie w wersji W1. Dzięki temu, firmy korzystające z tego rozwiązania mogą działać w pełni zgodnie z miejscowymi wymaganiami, co przekłada się na większą elastyczność i skuteczność w prowadzeniu działalności na skalę globalną. Microsoft przedstawił roadmapę opisującą koncept i zapewniał o wyłączaniu i przenoszeniu tego krokowo, co daje możliwości rozwoju dla partnerów przygotowujących te funkcjonalności na rynek lokalny. Pewne jest, iż na danym rynku nie będzie już jednego pakietu lokalizacyjnego dostarczanego przez głównego partnera na danym rynku.

Key benefits of relocation in Dynamics 365 Business Central after Directions EMEA 2023:
- W1 unified platform: now all core features will be available in one global version, eliminating the need to adapt to local market specifications.
- Easier implementation: by standardizing the implementation process, making changes and updates becomes more uniform and effective.
- Increased efficiency: Users around the world benefit from the same optimized features, resulting in increased operational efficiency.
- Change Tracking: Global versions of W1 enable more effective tracking of changes and the introduction of unified updates, even automating those updates released by Microsoft.
- Compliance with local regulations: The system still respects local regulations, but is now more flexible and compliant with a variety of requirements in small packages containing individual functions.
