What is OCR for Dynamics 365 Business Central used for?
Thanks to the use of OCR technology, you can significantly speed up administrative processes. Thanks to Continia Document Capture, the invoice can be scanned and the data from the scanned document is automatically transferred to Business Central. In this extremely convenient way, each line is imported, saved and associated with an existing order in the system. Continia automatically recognizes the source of the document (e.g. based on the supplier’s number), thanks to which the scanned documents are automatically correctly entered into the system. Interestingly, scanned documents are converted into an editable format, so you can open them, for example, with Microsoft Word.
In addition to purchase and sales invoices, Continia is typically used to scan sales orders and HR documents.
Continia Document Capture, which, apart from the introduction of OCR technology, also improves the electronic flow of documents. Among other things, it automatically downloads invoices from PDF documents and e-mail. Scanned paper documents or downloaded documents in electronic form, before being imported into the system, may first be approved by an authorized person. Acceptance may take place via Business Central or through a dedicated website.
